Visual Artists are those who create art we can look at, such as drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpting just to name a few. Illustrators are artists who specialize in enhancing writing or concepts by providing a visual representation of the concept, text or idea.
Education: Talent, experience and illustration skills may be preferred over education, however, a formal training program can help artists improve their artistic abilities and provide them with the work to include in a portfolio. Painting and Sculpting is an ability that comes naturally to many, so formal education isn't always required for a career as a painter or sculptor. However, many artists find that education and training can help them fine-tune techniques or learn specialized skills that may make them more employable. Many colleges and universities offer programs leading to a Bachelor's or Master's degree in fine arts. Average Salary for Illustrator: $66,000-128,000 depending on industry |
